The Technical Team consisting of Youth Development, Goal Keeping and Coach Education Division flew over to Madang to run Programs and Sessions as part of Football Development and Football Up – skilling and growth in the country.
The Team arrived on Monday and will be there for a week visiting nearby schools to do Sessions and Drills , Also Goal Keeping Tactics & Understanding of the New Laws of the Game and Conduct Coaching Trainings for Grassroots & Youths.
Acting Technical Director , Harrison Kamake ,Mathias Apo (Youth Development Officer) and Godfrey Banaiu (Goal Keeping Development Officer) are running separate Trainings and Sessions in Different venues concurrently that will end on Friday.
Mr Kamake Said that Trainings have been delayed for sometime because most of the OFC courses are held during the First Six Months of the Year which saw many of his officers attending the Workshops & Training Overseas. He elaborated further that this trainings are vital for Football Growth and Development and he’s anticipating to see many participants to attend and learn as much as they could and go back to their Communities or Clubs to pass on the knowledge they attained during the week.

We are now beginning to see soccer skills training going down to the schools and its about time our young generation starting from 4 yr Olds right through to 16 yr Olds that can be found in schools that basic skills of KICKING,PASSING,HEADING, TRAPPING & DRIBBLING can be taught for individual skills development a very important aspect of soccer skills development as well as team performance development where default game structures such as 4-3-3 attack & 4-5-1 defence and create a shorter version of seven a side with specific rules placing emphasis on leg balance to compliment these structures at an early age to see change in soccer culture that has rooted its self from the past generations and thumbs up to our Junior development team at PNGFA driving these programs
