General Secretariat
The PNGFA General Secretariat is responsible for implementing and executing the decisions of the PNGFA Executive Committee. It is an enthusiastic team made up of six departments including Finance & Administration, Technical, Competitions, Social Responsibility, Media, and TV. The General Secretariat also has close interaction with each of the 18 Member Associations and 4 Associate Member across Papua New Guinea. The OFC General Secretariat is based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
The General Secretary
Gordon R. Manub is a Papua New Guinean professional with extensive expertise in development programs, football management systems, and public health. He has a rich background in both public and private sectors, focusing on program planning, implementation, and stakeholder management.
Born and raised in Papua New Guinea, Manub’s academic achievements include a Diploma in Business Management from the International Business Management Institute (2019), a Diploma in Operations Management from Alison, Ireland (2012), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from the University of Papua New Guinea (2003).
Manub’s professional journey has spanned various leadership roles, demonstrating a commitment to both public health and sports development in Papua New Guinea. Notably, he served as a Board Member of the PNG National Land Board (2019–2021), where he played a pivotal role in strengthening land assessment and coordination functions. His work involved providing critical recommendations on land development, supporting the country’s broader development agenda.
Earlier in his career, Gordon Manub held leadership roles in the PNG Industry Malaria Initiative (2013–2015) and the Oil Search Health Foundation(2011–2013), where he developed and managed malaria control strategies, secured partnerships, and coordinated public health programs in oil and gas industry sectors. His work helped bridge public health needs with private sector initiatives, securing funding and building sustainable relationships between businesses and health agencies.
Gordon Manub has also demonstrated strong technical skills in health data management, as seen during his tenure as a Provincial Health Information Officer for Morobe Province (1999–2005). In this role, he successfully managed and presented health information that influenced provincial health policies and district health development plans.
In addition to his public health contributions, Gordon Manub has shown a strong interest in football management systems, leveraging his skills to strengthen partnerships and improve football management in developing business contexts. His cross-disciplinary expertise makes him a valuable leader in both public health and sports development.
Currently residing in Port Moresby, Gordon Manub continues to advocate for sustainable development in Papua New Guinea, focusing on strategic planning, relationship development, and stakeholder engagement across sectors.
